February 2009
EBU Subscriptions
It's February, snow, frost and that month of the year that the EBU accompanies English Bridge with reminders for subscriptions, due 1st April.
This year the EBU has and raised its subscription by a pound but the county subscription is unchanged. The bottom line for full members in 2009-2010 is £23.00; £18.00 to the national body and £5.00 to the county. For Juniors who were under 17 on 1-Jan-2009, EBU subscription is £2.00, for those under 25 it is £5.00. Suffolk membership is free to all juniors.
A reminder that subscriptions (both parts!) go directly to EBU, whether by Direct Debit, personal cheque or EBU vouchers. This year will be the last in which individual subscriptions will be collected; next year the EBU's plan for Universal Membership will be funded by the Pay to Play method passed by the counties last year.
The EBU club subscription is unchanged at £20.50. Suffolk collects £0.50 per member, again the same as 2008-9. These are separate but the county can collect on behalf of the EBU and the SCBA membership secretary will be writing to club secretaries shortly.
