Pair Wins Suffolk Individual!

Joan MayhewRichard EvansA re-count saw the Suffolk Singles end in an exact tie.

Joan Mayhew and Richard Evans – both committee members note… – accumulated exactly the same number of matchpoints and so share the trophy. More details in results section.

The Suffolk Singles was instigated by the late Jyl Marsh. The Committee have decided to formally name the event after Jyl so with her family's enthusiastic support, our joint winners will be awarded The Jyl Marsh Suffolk Individual at the AGM in May, each keeping the Waters trophy for six months.

Bridge in the Cupboard

Askia, the nine of diamonds

If you are from north of the border, the Nine of Diamonds is a fateful card, but the reference for Askia, the nine of diamonds is decidedly southern, in fact African, not Caledonian at all.
